Frequently Asked Questions
We offer three options - solid wood, hybrid, and premium poly plantation shutters.
Our hybrid shutters have a solid wood frame and solid poly louvers.
Our premium poly shutters are all solid poly.
Our solid wood shutter is durable and high quality. It’s our most high end shutter. Our poly shutter is made of our solid poly vinyl and is great for rooms with higher humidity like bathrooms. Our hybrid shutter is made with wood and premium poly and is the most economical shutter we offer.
No, we manufacture a high quality solid poly plantation shutter that is durable and built to last.
We offer three louver sizes in our shutters:
2 1/2"
3 1/2"
4 1/2"
Like choosing which tilt rod is right for your home, choosing the right louver size depends a lot on the style of your home and your decor.
2 1/2" louvers are generally associated with more traditional home design. They are most commonly used with tilt rods.
3 1/2" louvers are generally associated with more modern home design. They are most commonly made as Clearview (hidden tilt rods). 3 1/2" louvers are the most popular choice in coastal homes.
4 1/2" louvers are generally associated with contemporary home design and large windows/doors where larger scale and proportion are needed.
During our free in-home consultation, we'll show you samples and lots of pictures of each option to help make the decision making process simple and easy.
No, our wood shutters do not require maintenance other than the use of a damp cloth for getting the dust off. Make sure you dry them well after cleaning because if water gets absorbed it could damage the wood. Also, we do not recommend cleaning with anything other than a damp cloth as this could damage the wood or the varnish.
Our ploy shutter is our most popular choice for coastal environments due to the high humidity. They're made of 100% poly so they will not absorb moisture. They look so similar to solid wood that it's nearly impossible to tell the difference.
After our shutters are painted, it's hard to tell the difference.
We usually only repair shutters that we manufacture, but we'll be happy to take a look at what you need & let you know if we can help.
Sorry...we do not manufacture exterior shutters.
Once you've decided to order your shutters, we ask for a 50% deposit to begin making them.
Manufacturing typically takes between 5 and 6 weeks.
It can take a little less or a little more time depending on how busy we are.
Once your shutters are built, we will schedule a time to install them.
The balance is required at this time.
You can pay via cash, check, credit card or even Venmo.
Tilt rod shutters (below left) have the rod that controls the position of the louvers in the center for a more traditional look.
Clearview shutters (below right) have a "hidden" tilt rod that is mounted on the edge of the shutter for a cleaner look that is more modern and "open".
Most customers at the coast choose clearview but it’s really a personal preference.
Clearview shutters are super easy to control. If you simply move one louver, all the others move at the same time.
Yes, just give us a call and we’ll look up your order to make sure we order the correct charger for your blinds or shades.
If a custom stain is needed, we'll have to use our solid wood shutters.
We can put custom paint colors on any of our shutters (solid wood, hybrid or poly).
When we come out, we'll bring a pallet of standard paints & stains.
If one of our colors doesn't meet your needs, we can custom color match.
Having a good sample of your color is critical.
After your custom color has been matched, we will bring you a sample for approval so that we're sure you're 100% pleased.
Once the custom color is approved, production can begin
We only repaint shutters that we manufacture.
Unfortunately, we cannot repaint shutters that are manufactured by other companies.
If a silicone based cleaner (like pledge) has been used, we’ll need to fully re-sand before painting.

We offer two options (pictures of both options are below):
Tilt-rod (below left) - For this option there is a tilt-rod attached to the front side of each louver, in the middle. This allows all louvers to move together when one of them is adjusted. This option creates a slightly more "traditional" look.
Clearview (below right) - For this option, the tilt-rod is attached to the back, inside edge of the louvers. All louvers move together when one is adjusted, but the rod is nearly completely hidden. This option creates a "cleaner" look.
During our free in-home consultation, we'll show you samples and pictures of each option to help make the decision making process simple and easy.
