Who Is Southern Custom Shutters?

Our shutters are manufactured exclusively by my friend Jody Hooker's company - Southern Custom Shutters (SCS). SCS has been family-owned and operated since 1997 when Jody was inspired to start the company by his mother, who was a key partner in a window treatment store in their home town of Mount Airy, NC.

Southern Custom Shutters is located in High Point North Carolina. Why High Point? High Point isn't just any southern town… it prides itself on being the "Furniture Capital of the World". It has been home to the furniture industry in the US for over a century.

Being home to the US furniture industry, High Point is full of talented craftspeople - designers, sculptors, woodworkers, and upholsterers who have spent a lifetime building the best furniture there is.

In this atmosphere of creativity, originality and hard work, Southern Custom Shutters was born in 1997 to fill a void in the design and manufacturing of quality window treatments.

From the beginning, SCS drew upon the talents of area craftsmen as they built a reputation for quality, durability, and beauty in the production of the finest window treatments. Traditions of craftsmanship that have been handed down through generations call us to hold ourselves to the highest standards.

Throughout the years, we have expanded our product line in response to customer requests for new additions. Today our offerings include shutters, shades, and blinds; from stationary to motorized and in colors from basic white to completely customized. With hundreds of options available, we can meet the needs of any design, style or application.
