Plantation Shutters Installed in an Ocean Isle Beach, NC Coastal Home project

We recently installed custom plantation shutters in this Ocean Isle Beach, NC coastal home creating a clean, high-end look while improving light control, privacy, and energy efficiency.

This project is a great example of how plantation shutters can enhance both the appearance and functionality of a home in a coastal environment.

Project Overview

This Ocean Isle Beach home featured large windows that allowed in plenty of natural light—but the homeowner needed a better solution for light control, privacy and heat control.

We designed, manufactured, delivered and installed custom plantation shutters designed to complement the home’s coastal style while standing up to the local climate and meeting the owners needs for each room:

Bedrooms (east & West-facing)
- light & heat control
- privacy
kitchen (West-facing)
- light & heat control for comfort while working
living room (east/south facing)
- light control (control the glare on the tv)
- privacy

Shutter Details

For this project, we installed:

3 1/2" wide louvers for a balanced, classic look
Ultra-View design (no visible center rod) for a clean appearance
Bright white finish to match the interior
inside mount to highlight the window trim
hybrid construction - solid wood frame with the durability of poly louvers

The final result provided a crisp, built-in look that fits perfectly with the home’s design.
