Project Overview

This charming Southport home has large windows.  Natural light filters through live oak trees with Spanish moss in abundance. Due to a new home having been built next door, the homeowner's primary concern was privacy.  Solutions were needed for the rooms facing the new home; the master bedroom and a gorgeous sun porch.  Our solutions had to be clean & modern looking while still offering light control, flexible privacy options and protection from the heat of direct sunlight.

We designed, manufactured and installed custom plantation shutters  and roller shades that match the home’s low-country style while performing well in the demanding Cape Fear climate.

 

Shutter Details

• 4 1/2" louvers for a modern look

• Ultra-View louver control for a clean appearance

• split-tilt design - allows the upper & lower louvers to be controlled independently without the need for divider rails

• anthracite black paint color

• Inside mount to highlight the window trim​

• Hybrid construction combines solid wood frame with poly louvers for a premium feel that is optimal for humidity, salt air and UV exposure

The finished installation created a curated look that enhanced both the function and appearance of the space.

• 3" fabric covered cassettes for a clean, tailored look

• soft-touch cordless operation for effortless, elegant control

• semi-opaque fabric provides privacy while still allowing soft light

• Sorrento Linen fabric is light, natural and organic

• mounted below the transoms to preserve the architectural elements​

The result achieved the goal of  enhancing both the function and appearance of the space.
