Plantation Shutters in a holden beach, NC oceanfront Home
WE RECENTLY INSTALLED A CUSTOM PLANTATION SHUTTER IN THIS OCEANFRONT HOME IN HOLDEN BEACH, NC TO SOLVE AN UNUSUAL PRIVACY CHALLENGE. A CUSTOM VERTICAL-LOUVER DESIGN ALLOWS THE HOMEOWNER TO BLOCK THE VIEW TOWARD A NEIGHBORING PROPERTY WHILE PRESERVING THEIR VIEW OF THE OCEAN.
Project Overview
Our Holden Beach client had a window that looked directly toward a neighboring home. The challenge was to provide privacy from the neighbors without obstructing the home's oceanfront view.
We designed an unusual solution: a custom plantation shutter with vertically oriented louvers rather than the traditional horizontal configuration. This allows the homeowner to control the sightline toward the neighboring property while preserving the view toward the ocean.
The result allows the homeowner to enjoy morning coffee from the sofa, watch the sunrise over the ocean and still have the privacy they wanted.
